EARLIMART, CA — On Friday, October 28, 2022, Laura Michele Davis will follow a proud tradition dating back to 1907 when Earlimart’s first Postmaster Howard S. Miller took office.
Davis will raise her right hand to take the official Oath of Office as the Postmaster of Earlimart at a Noon ceremony at the Earlimart Post Office, 300 N. Church Rd, Earlimart, CA.
Her brother, Manager Operations Integrations Manuel Davis, will administer the oath.
Davis is a 17-year postal employee who began her postal career in 2005 as a carrier. In her postal career Davis has proudly performed numerous roles including station supervisor in Bakersfield, Injury Compensation Resource Manager, Customer Relations Coordinator and Consumer Affairs Manager for her District.
In 2021 Davis stepped into her most recent position as Postmaster of McFarland before coming to Earlimart.
As outlined in the USPS Delivering for America plan, the postal service is committed to modernizing and continually adapting to the evolving needs of all customers. As the Postmaster of the Earlimart Post Office Davis is prepared to serve her community with that development in mind.
“To me, being a Postmaster means fostering an environment of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement,” said Davis. “I strive to promote the personal and professional development of each member of my team and make a positive impact on the quality of life for the residents of Earlimart by engaging with and giving back to the community on a continuous basis.”
Davis resides in Visalia, CA where she enjoys spending time with her partner Jeremy and two daughters Katarina and Eleanor.
In her spare time Davis enjoys traveling, hiking, cooking, gardening and running.
Davis also spends her time in the community as a member of the Rotary Club of Earlimart.
As the Postmaster of Earlimart, Davis supervises six employees and oversees retail services and the daily distribution of mail to 754 delivery stops, 1,954 PO Boxes,1 rural route and 1 highway contract route to a community of over 7,000 residents.
Davis succeeds previous Earlimart Postmaster Alex M. Grijalva.
The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to fund its operations.
