WASCO, CA — On Thursday, October 27, 2022, Ron Anaya will follow a proud tradition dating back to when Benjamin Franklin was the first Postmaster General of the United States.
Anaya will raise his right hand to take the official Oath of Office as the Postmaster of the Wasco Post Office at a Noon ceremony at the Wasco Post Office, 800 E St., Wasco, CA 93280.
Post Office Operations Manager Richard Garcia will administer the oath.
Anaya, a proud Veteran of the Army, began his postal career not long after his service and started 29-years ago as a clerk at the Wasco Post Office. Throughout his career he served several assignments serving as a supervisor in stations such as Stockdale and Visalia before stepping into his first Postmaster role in 2015 as the Postmaster of Taft. In 2020 Anaya took on his most recent role as the Postmaster of Maricopa.
As outlined in the USPS Delivering for America plan, the postal service is committed to modernizing and continually adapting to the evolving needs of all customers. As the Postmaster of the Wasco Post Office Anaya is prepared to serve his community with that development in mind.
“I am proud to be a Postmaster and a leader to my team. It’s an honor to provide direction and guidance for others to emulate should they desire to pursue careers in management,” said Anaya. “I am very proud to serve the public and retain their trust in the Postal Service. I want my community to know we work tirelessly to provide consistent and reliable service.”
Anaya resides in Shafter, CA
In his spare time, he enjoys sports and attending service at his local church.
As the Postmaster of Wasco, Anaya supervises 19 employees and oversees the retail services and the daily distribution of mail to 6,000 delivery stops, 1,082 PO Boxes, 5 city routes, 2 rural routes and 1 highway contract to a community of over 28,000 residents.
The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to fund its operations.
