Background:

On Friday, in his 6th year as a postal employee, Alex Soto will be sworn in as Gustine Postmaster.

Soto began his postal career in 2016 as a Part-Time Clerk in Atwater CA. He was selected as a Supervisor in Turlock in April of 2022 prior to his promotion as Postmaster.

“I want to make a difference in the community that I serve, ensuring that my customers know that I am transparent and available,” said Soto. “My goal is to make sure that my customers are happy and that every experience they have meets the expectations of the brand and service that we provide them.”

The Postal Service is continually innovating to provide first-class service which can be seen in the Postmaster General’s Delivering for America 10-Year Plan.

Soto enjoys crime documentaries, working out and spending time with family and friends. 

As Gustine Postmaster, Soto oversees over 4,000 pieces of mail delivered daily while also servicing over 500 Post Office Box deliveries.  He manages 11 employees and oversees 6 postal routes to serve a population of more than 6,000.

The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to fund its operations.
