OAKDALE, CA — On Friday, November 4, 2022, Sachin Uttam will follow a proud tradition dating back to 1864 when Henry Langworthy became the first Postmaster of what would later become the Oakdale Post Office.
Uttam will raise his right hand to take the official Oath of Office as the Postmaster of the Oakdale Post Office at a 1:00 p.m. ceremony at the Oakdale Post Office, 170 N California Ave, Oakdale, CA 95361. Post Office Operations Manager Neil Gonzalez will administer the oath.
Uttam, a proud 6-year postal service employee began his postal career in 2016 as a city carrier assistant, he then became a career employee in 2017 as a carrier at the Willow Glen Post Office in San Jose, CA. In 2020 Uttam took on his most recent role as a Supervisor at the Modesto Post Office.
As outlined in the USPS Delivering for America plan, the postal service is committed to modernizing and continually adapting to the evolving needs of all customers. As the Postmaster of the Oakdale Post Office Uttam is prepared to serve his community with that development in mind.
“I am proud to serve as the Postmaster of my community and the leader of my team. My goal is to provide excellent service to the residents of Oakdale and motivate my employees to continue to progress with a forward-thinking mindset,” said Uttam.
Uttam resides in Manteca, CA where he enjoys spending time with his friends and family including wife Ramandeep and twin 2-year-old daughters Vanya and Nitya.
As the Postmaster of Oakdale, Uttam supervises 42 employees and oversees the retail services and the daily distribution of mail to 18,500 delivery stops, 2,478 PO Boxes, 9 city routes, 11 rural routes to a community of over 23,000 residents.
The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to fund its operations
