As outlined in the USPS Delivering for America plan, the postal service is committed to modernizing and continually adapting to the evolving needs of all customers. As the postmaster of Bass Lake, Silva is prepared to meet those needs.
“To me, being a Postmaster is being a service member for the community.
The Post Office is such a pillar in this town, and I am motivated to continue this high standard of customer service, just as the community deserves,” said Silva.
Silva began his postal career in 2005 as a rural carrier associate. In 2008 Silva became a career rural carrier in Del Ray, CA. He then went on to try his hand at management performing as Supervisor in several different stations including Clovis and Sanger. In 2020 Silva took on his most recent role managing the Tulare Post Office.
Silva resides in Tulare, CA where he enjoys spending time with his family including wife Harmony Scott, son Trevor, 23 and daughters Sage, 18, Sparrow, 12 and Tallulah, 10.
In his spare time Silva enjoys travelling and playing games with friends.
As the Postmaster of Bass Lake, Silva supervises two employees and oversees the retail services and the daily distribution of mail to 386 delivery stops, 1 HCR route, 288 Post Office Boxes to a community of 281 residents all at an elevation of 3415’.
The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to fund its operations.
