No one injured. Retail Service remains open
At approximately 10:30 am this morning, while pulling into a parking stall, a postal customer accidentally pressed the accelerator instead of the brake driving their vehicle into the front of the Foster City Post Office. A window was broken, and the door scratched, but there was minimal damage to the surrounding area. All broken glass has been cleaned up and the onsite building engineer has verified there is no structural damage to the building.
The customer has no reported injuries and was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure.
The post office will remain open for business as normal. For everyone’s safety, the damaged area will be boarded up. We urge customers to use caution around the affected area.
The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to fund its operations.
