ACTON, CA — On Wednesday, November 16, 2022, Albert Vazquez will follow a proud tradition dating back to when Benjamin Franklin was the first Postmaster General of the United States.
Vazquez will raise his right hand to take the official Oath of Office as the Postmaster of the Acton Post Office at an 11:30 a.m. ceremony at the Acton Post Office, 3632 Smith Ave., Acton, CA 93510. Post Office Operations Manager Richard Garcia will administer the oath.
Vazquez, a proud 21-year postal service employee began his postal career in 2001 as a clerk at the Camarillo Post Office. Vazquez tried his hand as a rural and city carrier before stepping into management in 2016. Vazquez took on his most recent role in 2017 as a Supervisor in the Camarillo Post Office.
As outlined in the USPS Delivering for America plan, the postal service is committed to modernizing and continually adapting to the evolving needs of all customers. As the Postmaster of the Acton Post Office Vazquez is prepared to serve his community with that development in mind.
“It is an honor and a privilege to serve the Acton community. As Postmaster it is my goal to deliver exceptional service and a welcoming atmosphere at the Acton Post Office,” said Vazquez.
Vazquez resides in Oxnard, CA where he enjoys spending time with his friends and family including daughter Mariah, 17, and son Mason, 10.
In his free time Vazquez enjoys volunteering at his local church and helping at local basketball practices with his son and community games.
As the Postmaster of Acton, Vazquez supervises nine employees and oversees the retail services and the daily distribution of over 10,000 pieces of mail and packages to over 3,000 delivery stops, 710 PO Boxes, 5 rural routes to a community of over 7,000 residents.
The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to fund its operations
