Background:

With only a few shipping days left to ensure your cards and packages make it under the Christmas tree, the San Francisco P&DC is ready to show you how they have prepared to deliver the holidays to the Bay Area.

The Postal Service recommends the following mailing and shipping deadlines for expected delivery by Dec. 25 to domestic addresses.

  • Dec. 17 — First-Class Mail service (including greeting cards)
  • Dec. 19 — Priority Mail service (Parcels)
  • Dec. 23 — Priority Mail Express* service

A major component to the US Postal Service’s Delivering for America plan is the $40 Billion expansion and modernization of our distribution network; half of which is being invested in upgrading our package and mail sortation.  The key to our success is having the largest, and most reliable, distribution and delivery network in the world.

**Your safety is always our first concern. Please be advised that you will be entering our processing facility, and proper footwear is required. Ensure that you are wearing closed-toed, non-slip shoes (preferably leather). Please no heels or pumps.
