ANAHAEIM, CA — On Friday, March 24, 2023, Ingrid Valenzuela will follow a proud tradition dating back to 1861 when John Fischer became the first Postmaster of the Anaheim Post Office.
Valenzuela will raise her right hand to take the official Oath of Office as the Postmaster of the Anaheim Post Office at an 11:00 a.m. ceremony at the Anaheim Post Office, 701 N. Loara, Anaheim, CA 92803.
Post Office Operations Manager Jackie Ahumada will administer the oath.
Valenzuela, a proud 17-year postal service employee began her postal career in 2006 in Huntington Beach as a carrier. She took on her first role in management in 2008 as a supervisor. Valenzuela went on to serve as Manager of Customer Service in multiple stations at the Long Beach Post Office and finally as Postmaster in 2014 as Postmaster of the Cypress Post Office.
In 2021, Valenzuela took on her most recent role as the Postmaster of La Habra before her promotion to the Anaheim Post Office.
As outlined in the USPS Delivering for America plan, the postal service is committed to modernizing and continually adapting to the evolving needs of all customers. As the Postmaster of the Anaheim Post Office Valenzuela is prepared to serve her community with that development in mind.
“It is such a great honor to be a Postmaster. I aspire to uplift my city and make it shine and make people wish they work here too,” said Valenzuela. “As Postmaster I am driven to provide the best service to the Anaheim community through hard work, dedication and honoring the mission of the Postal Service to Deliver for America.”
Valenzuela resides in Lakewood, CA where she enjoys spending time with her friends and family including husband, Hector, son Hector Jr., daughter Gabrielle and her mother Lourdes Gonzalez. Valenzuela is also the proud grandmother to grandson Enzo.
In her free time Valenzuela enjoys travelling, hiking, working out and cooking. She loves new experiences and considers herself a foody always seeking a new culinary adventure.
As the Postmaster of Anaheim, Valenzuela supervises 363 employees and oversees the retail services and the daily distribution of 445,691 pieces of mail and packages to 125,984 delivery stops, 8,758 PO Boxes, 197 delivery routes, to a community of nearly 349,000 residents.
