Escondido Post Office to Host Passport Fair on Apr. 29

Saturday Event is First Step for Those Planning International Summer Travel

What:

The Escondido Post Office is hosting a Passport Fair, at which postal employees will accept applications for new U.S. passports.

Now that COVID-19 concerns have declined and nations are welcoming back travelers, many Escondido residents are eager to get out and see the world,” said Escondido Postmaster Todd McArthur. “We encourage our customers to plan ahead and get their passport applications in now. The U.S. Passport Agency’s processing time for new passports is longer than usual due to extremely high demand.

“The purpose of this event is to make the process of applying for new passports easy for residents of Escondido and San Diego in general. A lot of people, especially those with schoolchildren, don’t have the time during the week to visit a post office to submit their passport applications.

“My postal clerks and I are coming into the office on a Saturday to help customers who want to get a head start on their summer international travel plans.”
