Background:
On Thursday, May 25th, in his 17th year as a postal employee, DeAngelo Johnson will be sworn in as Mission Hills Postmaster.
Johnson began his postal career in Lancaster, CA in 2006 as a letter carrier. He quickly moved up the ranks and began his management career in 2015. His management career has taken him to the following cities: Van Nuys, Sherman Oaks, Encino, Pacoima, and San Fernando.
“It’s an honor and a privilege to be Postmaster of this great city,” Johnson said. “I believe that the only person you are destined to be is the person you decide to be. To me, being Postmaster means making sure all of my employees are safe while providing the most efficient and reliable service to our customers. The Postal Service is continually innovating to provide first-class service which can be seen in the PMG’s Delivering for America 10-Year Plan,” he said.
Johnson enjoys collecting old VWs, photography, and film and video editing. He has one son, Isaiah,15. Johnson resides in Winnetka, CA.
As Mission Hills Postmaster, Johnson oversees over 300,000 pieces of mail delivered daily while also servicing over 6000 Post Office Box deliveries. He manages 217 people, 129 postal routes with a population of over 265,000.
