Post Offices Hosting ‘Super Bloom’ of Passport Fairs on May 20

17 Simultaneous Events in San Diego, San Bernardino & Imperial Counties

What:

While the wave of blooming spring flowers across Southern California may have already peaked, the U.S. Postal Service will be experienced its own one-day “super bloom” this upcoming weekend: Seventeen post offices in San Diego, San Bernardino and Imperial Counties will host simultaneous Passport Fairs on Saturday, May 20.

Another three post offices, including one in Riverside County, will be hosting Passport Fairs on May 27 and 28.

Postal employees at all 20 locations will accept applications for new U.S. passports during these events.

“Now that COVID-19 concerns have declined and nations are welcoming back travelers, many Southern California residents are eager to get out and see the world,” said San Diego Postmaster Justine Valadez. “We encourage our customers to plan ahead and get their passport applications in now. The U.S. Passport Agency’s processing time for new passports is longer than usual due to extremely high demand.

“The purpose of these events is to make the process of applying for new passports easy for our customers. A lot of people, especially those with schoolchildren, don’t have the time during the week to visit a post office to submit their passport applications.
