Background:

On Thursday July 27th, the Postal Service will host a ribbon cutting and opening day job fair for its brand-new full service hiring center at the San Francisco Main Post Office.

This hiring center will serve as a one-stop shop for applicants to submit applications, receive assistance by postal staff, and submit fingerprints in real time Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Nearly a thousand positions are available across the Bay Area with hundreds of opportunities available directly in San Francisco.

Walk-ins are welcome and there is no appointment necessary. Postal employees will be available to assist applicants through the process.

The Postal Service has nearly a thousand of openings across the Bay Area.

There is an immediate need for the following positions to be filled:

  • Mail Processing: Clerks and Mail Handlers
  • Delivery: City and Rural Carriers
  • Transportation: Tractor Trailer Operators
  • Maintenance: Mechanics, Laborer Custodian and Automotive Technician

Applicants must be 18 years of age, or 16 years of age with a high school diploma or GED. All applicants must be able to pass drug screening and a criminal background investigation. Some positions require an exam. Any position that has a driving requirement will also require a valid driver license and clean DMV 2-year driving history. Citizenship or permanent resident status of five years is required.
