Rogers began his career with the Postal Service in May 1969, starting as a Mail Handler at the Oakland P&DC. Over the span of 54 years, he has held various roles within the organization, including Mail Handler Technician, Equipment Operator, and 204B Supervisor, affectionately known as the Krispy Kreme Supervisor. His current role is also that of a Mail Handler. A typical workday for him involves preparing placards for the outgoing mail to be distributed. Born and raised in Oakland, California, he has been married for nearly 30 years.
Looking to the future, Rogers hopes to maintain his health and possibly move to Virginia with his wife. “The secret to my longevity at the Postal Service has been a regular regimen of vitamins and exercise,” he said. “I truly have no regrets; the Postal Service has been a great place to work.”
