Background:

On November 2, 2023, the Los Angeles International Service Center (LAISC) will honor Leroy Brown with a certificate and service coin for 70 years of federal service. With two years of active military duty and 68 years in the Postal Service, Brown remains actively engaged and employed at the LAISC with no plans of retirement in his near future.

From 1953 to 1955, Brown served in the U.S. Army under the Special Category Army with Air Force (SCAWAF) unit before entering the Postal Service. Over the last 68 years, Brown has watched and participated in the evolution of the Postal Service, starting his career at the World Way Air Mail Center, which later became the LAISC, as a mail clerk. Brown’s dedication, work ethics and positive attitude have cemented him as a positive role model for his Postal family.
