Manages Retail, Delivery & PO Box Services for Cathedral City
CATHEDRAL CITY — Mira Ivans Lalova was recently named the Postmaster of the Cathedral City Post Office.
In that position, Lalova manages 48 employees and oversees retail services at the Cathedral City Post Office and the daily distribution of mail on 24 delivery routes serving Cathedral City, and to 1,200 PO Boxes at her facility.
She replaces former Cathedral City Postmaster Gloria Arellano, who retired.
Lalova is a nine-year postal employee who began her career as a mail carrier at the Palm Desert Post Office and most recently served as the postmaster of the Redwood City Post Office.
“I’m happy and proud to have been selected for this position,” said Lalova. “I hope to further the Postal Service’s legacy of outstanding customer service and to contribute to the overall success of the organization.
“As outlined in USPS’s Delivering for America plan, we are modernizing and continually adapting to the changing needs of our customers. Our customers are priority one, whether they’re located in a major metropolitan area or smaller communities like Cathedral City.
“I want to express my gratitude to my postal mentors for their guidance and support and to the leadership team at the USPS San Diego District office for giving me this opportunity.”
Lalova was born and raised in Bulgaria and graduated from the University of Sofia with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communications. She currently resides in La Quinta.
Her hobbies include spending time with her family, traveling, cooking, movies and music.
