SANTA ROSA, CA — In accordance with 39 C.F.R. § 241 The United States Postal Service has made a final decision to relocate retail services from the Coddingtown Station Santa Rosa, CA Post Office formerly located at 1250 Coddingtown Center, Santa Rosa, CA 95401 to 1000 Coddingtown Center, Santa Rosa, CA 95401.
A postcard was sent on May 19, 2023, asking for community input. The Postal Service is considering relocation because the landlord has plans to redevelop the property currently occupied by the Postal Service. The same landlord has offered a remodeled building for the Postal Service to occupy in the same center at 1000 Coddingtown Center.
The Postal Service anticipates providing the same services at the new location as were provided to our customers at the former location. Additionally, the Postal Service plans to continue services at the current Post Office until the replacement facility is open and operating as a Post Office.
While the Postal Service is sensitive to the impact of this decision on its customers and the Santa Rosa, CA community, the Postal Service properly considered community input and this decision is consistent with Postal Service objectives. Postal Service operations are not supported by tax dollars. To be self-sustaining, the Postal Service must make decisions that ensure it provides adequate and affordable postal services in a manner that is as efficient and economical as possible.
