Guerneville Post Office now offering Passport Services

GUERNEVILLE, CA — It’s a new year and that means time for planning new adventures but if your plans are international, you will still need to secure your passport ahead of time.

For travelers in Sonoma County the Guerneville Post Office located at 14060 Mill St, Guerneville, CA 95446 will soon offer passport services to make it easier for you to pack your bags and plan your next fantastic voyage.

Starting January 8, the Guerneville Post Office will offer passport services including photos, Monday- Friday by appointment only, customers can book appointments using the online retail customer appointment scheduler or contacting the Post Office, and Saturdays during special walk-in hours on a first-come first served basis 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m..

We are proud to start this year with new services for our Guerneville and west Sonoma County residents. We know how important it is to submit passport applications early and in time for travel season. That’s why we’ve expanded our retail services to include passport applications and photos,” said Guerneville Postmaster Cole Risley.

To help make the process as smooth as possible, applicants are asked to fill out application forms ahead of time. Forms and fee information can be found on the Postal Service website or on the U.S. Department of State website.

Customers can also obtain passport information by phone, in English and Spanish, by calling the National Passport Information Center toll-free at (877) 487-2778.

To apply for a passport, applicants need a valid form of photo identification and proof of citizenship.

Proof of identification — You may submit items such as the following containing your signature and a photograph that is a good likeness of you: Current or previous U.S. passport, naturalization certificate, certificate of citizenship or a current and valid driver’s license, government ID or military ID.

**A photocopy of the identification - front and back – must be submitted with your passport application.

Proof of citizenship includes any one of the following:

  1. Certified birth certificate issued by the city, county, or state
  2. Naturalization certificate or certificate of citizenship, and
  3. An expired passport
