Southside Fontana Post Office to Host Passport Fair on Jan. 20

Rare Saturday Opportunity for Those Planning International Travel in 2024

What:

The Southside Post Office in Fontana is hosting a Passport Fair, at which postal employees will accept applications for new U.S. passports.

“Now that the holidays are over, the thoughts of many Fontana residents have turned to making spring break and summer travel plans,” said Fontana Postmaster Rafael Medina. “Those planning international travel should plan ahead and get their passport applications ASAP. The U.S. Passport Agency currently estimates that it will take from six to eight weeks to process new passport applications.

“The purpose of this special Saturday event is to make the process of applying for new passports easy for residents of Fontana and San Bernardino County as a whole. A lot of people, especially those with schoolchildren, don’t have the time during the week to visit a post office to submit their passport applications.

“My postal clerks and I are coming into the office on a Saturday to help customers who want to get a head start on their 2024 international travel plans.”
