Summer Travelers Advised to Submit Their New Passport Applications ASAP
What:
The Escondido Post Office is hosting a special Passport Fair at which postal employees will accept applications for new U.S. passports.
“Now that we’re two months into the year, the thoughts of many Escondido residents have turned to making summer travel plans,” said Escondido Postmaster Angelia Volz. “Those planning international travel should plan ahead and submit their passport applications ASAP. The U.S. Passport Agency currently estimates that it will take from six to eight weeks to process new passport applications.
“Our Escondido Post Office doesn’t normally provide weekend passport acceptance services, but we’re doing it during this special event to make the process of applying for new passports easy for residents of Escondido and North County as a whole. A lot of people, especially those with schoolchildren, don’t have the time during the week to visit a post office to submit their passport applications.
“My postal clerks and I are planning this event and coming into the office on this Saturday to help customers who want to get a head start on their 2024 international travel plans.”
