PASADENA, CA — On Friday, April 25, 2024, at 11:00 am, Silven Zimmerman will follow a proud tradition dating back to when Benjamin Franklin was the first Postmaster General of the United States.

In his 24th year as a Postal employee, Zimmerman will raise his right hand to take the official Oath of Office as the Postmaster of the Pasadena Post Office at a ceremony at the Pasadena Plaza Station, 281 E. Colorado Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91101.

Post Office Operations Manage Jolene Fischer will administer the oath.

Zimmerman began his postal career in 2000 as a city carrier in Tampa, FL. Over the course of his career, he proudly served on several detail assignments including several years as a Driving Safety Instructor, and a trainer in Learning and Development. In 2015 Zimmerman stepped into the role of management as Station Supervisor in Tampa, FL. He went on to serve additional assignments as a Financial Specialist and as a member of the Gulf Atlantic Hurricane Relief Team.

His most recent role was as Postmaster of Alhambra Post Office before his promotion as the Postmaster of Pasadena.

As outlined in the USPS Delivering for America plan, the postal service is committed to modernizing and continually adapting to the evolving needs of all customers. As the Postmaster of the Pasadena Post Office Zimmerman is prepared to serve his community with that development in mind.

“To me the title of Postmaster is an honor. Being a Postmaster gives me the opportunity of being a committed leader to my postal team but more importantly being committed to the community of Pasadena,” said Zimmerman.

“It is my goal to build trust within the community of the Pasadena Postal Service by providing excellent customer service both in the office and the neighborhoods in which we serve.”

Zimmerman is a proud father of three daughters, Ashley, 31, Emma, 20 and Jillian, 17, and grandfather of three granddaughters, Eloise, Jaylen, and Harper.

He resides in Whitter, CA with his wife Alisha and enjoys reading, cooking and spending time with his dog.

Zimmerman is also deeply committed to volunteer work and community engagement with a history of volunteer at St. Jude’s Hospital, Metropolitan Ministry and as a member of Krewe of Saint Yago.

He also served as a Referee for City Adult Softball Leagues and as a President for Tampa Gym and Dance.

As Pasadena Postmaster, Zimmerman oversees 250,000 pieces of mail delivered delivery to over 80,256 delivery stops while also servicing over 7,888 Post Office Boxes. He manages 442 employees and oversees 119 Pasadena City Routes and 13 City routes in San Marino to serve a population of over 134,000.
