Background:

On Tuesday, August 20th in his 7th year as a postal employee, Tansu Karademir will be sworn in as Citrus Heights Postmaster. He will follow in the steps of the first Citrus Heights Postmaster Marjorie L. Woods.

Karademir began his postal career in Davis, CA in 2017 as an assistant rural carrier. In 2019, he began his management career in Sacramento and later in San Francisco.

“It’s an honor and a privilege to be Postmaster of this great community, following in the footsteps of Benjamin Franklin” Karademir said. “My goal is to continue providing excellent customer service. The Postal Service aims to provide first-class service which can be seen in the PMG’s Delivering for America 10-Year Plan,” he said.

Karademir enjoys skiing, traveling, and spending time with his family. He graduated from Maltepe University in 2008, with a degree in Tourism and Hotel Management. His wife is Hebe Mares Karademir, his parents are Tansel and Gulcan Karademir, brother is Berkin, and mother-in-law is Angelina Mares. Karademir was a volunteer of the recovery team during the Camp Fire in Paradise, CA. He resides in Sacramento, CA.

As Citrus Heights Postmaster, Karademir oversees nearly 80,000 pieces of mail delivered daily, over 34,000 delivery points, while servicing over 4,500 post office boxes. He manages 115 employees with a population of over 86,000.
