Manages Retail, Delivery & PO Box Services for Borrego Springs
BORREGO SPRINGS – Gloria E. Marin was recently named the Postmaster of the Borrego Springs Post Office.
In that position, Marin manages four employees and oversees retail services at the Borrego Springs Post Office and the daily distribution of mail to more than 2,200 PO Boxes and on one delivery route in Borrego Springs.
She replaces former Borrego Springs Postmaster Walter Murray, who is now the postmaster of the Warner Springs Post Office.
Marin is a nine-year postal employee who began her career as a clerk at the Ocotillo Post Office and most recently served as a supervisor at the Oceanside Post Office.
“I’m honored and excited to have been selected for this position,” said Marin. “I hope to further the Postal Service’s legacy of outstanding customer service, to support the development of my employees, and to develop positive relationships with our customers and the community as a whole.
“As outlined in USPS’s Delivering for America plan, we are modernizing and continually adapting to the changing needs of our customers. Our customers are priority one, whether they’re located in Boston, Birmingham or Borrego Springs.
“I want to express my gratitude to my family for their support, to my postal mentors for their guidance, and to the leadership team at the USPS San Diego district office for giving me this opportunity.”
Marin was born in El Centro, graduated from Central Union High School and Southwestern College, and currently resides in Oceanside. Her hobbies include spending time with her family, reading and shopping.
