SAN DIEGO — This year the U.S. Postal Service will be delivering more than its usual truck loads of mail and packages in the days leading up to Labor Day. It’ll be delivering job opportunities for San Diego and Riverside County residents at five simultaneous job fairs.

USPS is seeking to fill 60 rural carrier associate (RCA) and Assistant Rural Carrier (ARC) positions at job fairs scheduled for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Aug. 29 at post offices in Escondido, Lake Elsinore, Murrieta, San Marcos and Vista.

The available positions, which offer starting pay of $20.38 an hour, are ideal for candidates who enjoy being active and working independently outdoors with occasional customer service interactions and are a first step that could lead to long-term careers for the Postal Service.

The specific locations of the job fairs are shown below.

“Our employees play essential roles in their communities,” said USPS San Diego Human Resources Manager Carol Capone. “From the dog days of summer through the holiday shipping rush, in rain or shine our carriers get the job done.

“As outlined in our USPS Delivering for America plan, we’re modernizing and continually adapting to the changing needs of our customers. In order to do that, we need motivated, dedicated people to join us to deliver for our local communities and our nation.”

USPS RCAs and ARCs provide mail delivery and pickup service to customers in rural and suburban communities. More detailed RCA and ARC job descriptions are available online.

USPS personnel will be onsite at the above job fairs to answer questions, assist potential applicants and provide detailed information about available positions.
