On Tuesday, October 22, 2024, Madera Post Office will celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a stamp event.

The Breast Cancer Research semipostal stamp has raised $95 million since 1998. More than one billion Breast Cancer Research stamps have been sold and the stamps will be available for purchase at the event.

Background:

The Breast Cancer Research semipostal stamp, originally issued in 1998, became the first semipostal for the USPS. Semipostal stamps are sold at a surcharge to raise money for a particular cause. Purchase of this stamp supports the Breast Cancer Research work of the National Institutes of Health and the Medical Research Program of the Department of Defense.
