Background:

On Tuesday, November 19th, in her 7th year as a postal employee, Yenia Gamino will be sworn in as Le Grand Postmaster.

Gamino began her postal career in El Nido, CA in 2017 as a sales associate. She began her management career in 2021 at Le Grand Post Office as a supervisor before her promotion to postmaster.

“It’s an honor and a privilege to be Postmaster of this great city,” Gamino said. “I believe if you don’t step forward, you’ll always be in the same spot. I now have an opportunity to make a difference in my community. To me, being Postmaster means making sure all of my employees are safe while providing the most efficient and reliable service to our customers. The Postal Service is continually innovating to provide first-class service which can be seen in the PMG’s Delivering for America 10-Year Plan,” she said.

Gamino is married to her husband, Jonathan Thornton and they have a daughter, Hailie Thornton. They reside in Merced, CA.

As Le Grand Postmaster, Gamino oversees over 1,500 pieces of mail delivered daily while also servicing over 400 Post Office Box deliveries. She manages seven people, two rural postal routes, one highway contract route with a population of over 1,600.
