SALINAS, CA — The U.S. Postal Service is pleased to announce the return to the original post office operating hours of 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. effective Monday, December 2, 2024, for Spreckels Post Office located at 40 Spreckels Blvd, Salinas, CA 93908. The decision comes after extensive feedback from the community and local representatives who voiced their concern about the recent change in hours.

Spreckels Post Office will once again be open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a daily lunch closure from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday to Friday to accommodate residents who work during the day to come to the post office on their lunch hour.

Last month, the hours were adjusted to 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in an effort to better meet the needs of residents. However, USPS now understands that the adjustment did not meet the needs of the broader community.

“We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by this change,” said Salinas Postmaster Gurpreet Randhawa. “The Postal Service’s mission is to serve our communities in a way that values their feedback and provides superior customer service. We made a mistake, and we own it,” he added.
