SANTA ROSA, CA — On Saturday, May 10th at 11:00 a.m. the Santa Rosa Post Office will be offering a commemorative keepsake postmark, also known as a pictorial cancellation, in recognition of the Museum of Sonoma County’s 40th anniversary.
Postal officials will commemorate the anniversary with a pictorial postmark at the Museum’s Free event. Attendees will have the opportunity to purchase stamps and receive a free pictorial cancellation with purchase. Send a letter or keep this special Sonoma County commemorative piece to celebrate local postal history all from the building that once housed the Santa Rosa Post Office.
The celebration, free and open to the public, will be at the Museum of Sonoma County, 425 Seventh Street, Santa Rosa, CA 95401.
The cancellation will also be available at the Santa Rosa Post Office for 30 days.
Pictorial postmarks also may be obtained through the mail for anyone unable to attend through June 10, 2025.
For one or more postmarks, affix the minimum of a First-Class stamp to an envelope or postcard, address the envelope or postcard to yourself or to others, insert a card of thickness in the envelope(s), and tuck in the flap(s). Place the envelope(s) or postcard(s) in a large envelope and mail to:
