USPS Reminds Applicants of the New Non-Career Job Portal

In-person job fairs every Friday at Los Angeles District Office

Greater Los Angeles – The Postal Service is reminding applicants of the new online job portal for non-career postal positions which opens each week from Saturday through Wednesday.

The USPS Careers Site (jobs.usps.com or scan QR code) only processes the following positions:

  • Mail Handler Assistant
  • City Carrier Assistant
  • PSE Mail Processing Clerk
  • PSE Sales and Services/Distribution Associate

Career positions will continue to be found our legacy application system (eCareer) which are released Saturday through Friday.

The Los Angeles District Postal Service hosts in-person job fairs every Friday where applicants can meet with a specialist to answer questions about the application process and help candidates build a profile to apply for positions.

Current positions:

Automotive Technician
Lead Automotive Technician

All positions are paid bi-weekly; automotive technician is $63,658/yr; and lead automotive technician is $71,056/yr.

At the time of appointment, applicants must have a valid driver's license from the state in which they live.

Applicants must also demonstrate and maintain a safe driving record. Applicants selected under this qualification standard must successfully complete the required Vehicle Familiarization and Safe Operation training, including demonstration of the ability to safely drive a vehicle of the type used on the job.

Qualified applicants must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening to meet the U.S. Postal Service's requirement to be drug free. Applicants must also be a U.S. citizen or have permanent resident alien status.
