Unique, special occasion coincides with USPS 250th anniversary
On Tuesday, Sept. 23, the Crestline Post Office will commemorate a once-a-century alignment of the date on the calendar — 9.23.25 — with its ZIP Code — 92325.
The alignment of calendar dates with ZIP Codes occurs only once a century and in relatively few locations nationwide. Here in Southern California, our ZIP Codes meet their dates in September.
Crestline Postmaster Kenneth Cooper is looking forward to celebrating this unique event with his team and community. “This year, The Postal Service is observing its 250th anniversary, which makes celebrating the meeting of date and ZIP event more special. My eleven staff members, most of whom live in the community, put their heart and hard work into every letter and package that is delivered. I’m proud of them and that we can celebrate this special occasion with our Crestline family.”
Events begin at 8 a.m. with a special flag raising ceremony by area veterans at 8:30 a.m., refreshments, presentation of area history, and celebrations with the community.
A special commemorative cancellation stamp featuring the “92325 Date Meets ZIP Station” postmark, as depicted above, will be available for envelopes, postcards, and memorabilia. The special postmark will also be available at that office to cancel items presented by customers for 30 days after the date.
The Postal Service is celebrating its 250th anniversary this year, commemorating its rich history of binding the nation together by connecting people, communities, and businesses.
