USPS Job Fair

Greater Los Angeles – During the month of May, the Postal Service will host three (3) in-person hiring fairs in Los Angeles to fill various career vacancies across the greater Los Angeles area.

The Postal Service rolls out new positions’ multiple times a week. Applicants are encouraged to visit the legacy eCareer website daily for new opportunities.

Applying is simple, with two options to choose:

  • Onsite at the job fair address, below. Computers are available for applicants’ use.

A specialist will be available to answer questions about the application process and help candidates build a profile to apply for positions.

Employment requirements

  • Must be 18 years old at the time of appointment or 16 years old with a high school diploma.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screening, and medical assessment.
  • Must be a United States citizen, permanent resident, or citizen of American Samoa or other U.S. Territory.
  • Must provide recent employment history.
  • Must have a safe driving record (if applicable to the position).
  • Must be registered with Selective Service if applicable.

Application & exam cost
Both the application and any exams are free – if you see any websites that are charging a fee, they are not legitimate and should be reported to the United States Postal Inspection Service.

Which application system should I use?
USPS has two application systems, the USPS Careers and the legacy “eCareer” websites; each accepts applications for specific positions.

The new website, USPS Careers (jobs.usps.com) must be used to search for applications for the following positions:

  • Mail Handler Assistant
  • PSE Mail Processing Clerk
  • City Carrier Assistant
  • PSE Sales and Services/Distribution Associate

The legacy “eCareer” website must be used to search for all other  positions, including by not limited to the following:

  • Automotive Technician
  • Laborer Custodian
  • Maintenance Mechanic
  • Supervisor Customer Service

Time commitment
We encourage you to take your time with the application to best detail the experience that you bring to the table. Within the USPS Careers application, you have the ability to save your progress and return to your profile at a later time if needed.
