Background:

On Friday, September 25^th, in his 10^th year as a postal employee, Sachin Uttam will be sworn in as Modesto Postmaster.

Uttam began his postal career in San Jose, CA in 2016 as a Letter Carrier. He began his management career also in San Jose, CA two years later. He later served as Postmaster in Oakdale, CA and Ripon, CA as well as Officer-In-Charge in many Central Valley cities including Manteca, Tracy, and Lodi, CA.

“It’s an honor and a privilege to serve as Modesto Postmaster,” Uttam said. “My goal is to continue providing top-notch customer service by means of my expertly trained staff so as to assist all Modesto customers with their postal needs. I also want to continue to motivate my employees to always put safety first with a forward-thinking mindset.”

Uttam is married to his wife, Ramandeep. They have twin six-year-old girls, Nitya and Vanya. In his downtime, Uttam enjoys watching television, playing Cricket and spending time with his family. He has a Master of Business Administration degree. They currently reside in Manteca, CA.

As Modesto Postmaster, Uttam oversees over 300,000 pieces of mail delivered daily, servicing over 7,000 Post Office Box deliveries with over 150,000 delivery points. He manages 275 employees with 118 city routes and 37 rural routes with a population of over 220,000.
