CLOVIS, CA — The U.S. Postal Service recently welcomed employees to an event celebrating the opening of the Clovis Sorting & Delivery Center (SDC). The special event offered employees a first look at the Postal Service’s latest investments to improve their employee experience and provide the community and surrounding regions with faster, more reliable last-mile delivery in Clovis and beyond.
Thanks to billions invested in the national postal network over the past five years, USPS recently reported significant improvements in on-time delivery and higher customer satisfaction across the country.
“For customers and businesses here in Clovis CA, this new Sorting and Delivery Center will improve outcomes for our community, strengthening daily delivery while helping our teams work more safely and efficiently,” said Clovis Postmaster Drew Esquer. “Investments like these represent more than a physical upgrade; they reflect a commitment to our employees, our customers, and the future of the Postal Service.”
The Clovis SDC serves over 53,000 customers across 93611-13 and 93619 ZIP Codes, including 76 routes. In California writ large, the Postal Service employs more than 55,000 men and women and serves more than 15 million addresses, six and often seven days a week.
Sorting and Delivery Centers support a modern delivery model
As USPS expands its role as the nation’s end-to-end carrier of choice, the creation of Sorting and Delivery Centers has been a core part of transformation and modernization efforts. Over recent years, USPS has opened more than 150 S&DCs across the country, positioning the organization for success by:
