Mahany and his Flight for Life crew crashed into a parking lot near St. Anthony’s Medical Center just seconds after takeoff.

Mahany was a 27-year veteran pilot for Flight for Life. He served his country as an Army pilot in Vietnam from April 1970 to April 1971, logging 1,200 combat hours while earning a Bronze Star and Purple Heart.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations
