Postal Service temporarily removes collection boxes, closes some Post Offices early due to possible civil event

Temporary action the result of precautionary security measures

DENVER and COLORADO SPRINGS — Postal customers in Denver and Colorado Springs will see some changes as the city makes security preparations for the potential upcoming civil events.

The following postal facilities will have reduced hours on Saturday, Jan. 16:

USPS blue collection boxes at numerous locations will be temporarily removed as a security measure to protect the mail and the public. All blue collection boxes will be replaced after this potential threat is over.
