Colorado Springs, Briargate Post Office holds Dedication Ceremony for fallen Chaplain (Capt.) Dale Goetz

Background:

On October 17, 2019, Congressman Doug Lamborn introduced H.R. 4725 to designate the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 8585 Criterion Drive in Colorado Springs, Colorado, as the “Chaplain (Capt.) Dale Goetz Memorial Post Office Building” which was signed into Public Law 116-239  by the President on December 21, 2020.

The ceremony will be attended by members of Chaplain Goetz's family, including his widow Christy and three sons Landon, Caleb, and Joel. Also, in attendance will be Army Chaplain (BG) Retired Ray Bailey, Army Reserve Chaplain (BG) Retired Ray Woolridge, Bishop Derek L.S. Jones- Chaplain Alliance for Religious Liberty, Dr. Kevin Bauder - Central Baptist Seminary, Representatives from Senator Bennett, Congressman Buck, El Paso County, the City of Colorado Springs, and representatives from Fort Carson, Peterson Air Force Base, Schriever Air Force Base, Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station, the United States Air Force Academy, Buckley Space Force Base, and the United States Post Office.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
