New Colorado City Contract Post Office To Open Sept. 19 for Mail Pick Up

COLORADO CITY, CO — Colorado City postal customers will soon have more convenient access to their mail. Effective Monday, September 19, the new Contract Post Office location at 9048 South I-25 in Colorado City will open for PO Box mail pick up. Retail services will not be available at the new location until a future date, as they are currently under construction.

The previous contract location was closed last month after the previous contractor decided to relinquish his contract. Post Office Box delivery was temporarily relocated to the Pueblo Main Post Office.

Thursday, September 15, is the last day Colorado City residents may pick up their mail from the Pueblo Main Post Office. There will be no mail pick up for Colorado City residents on September 16 and 17, in order for USPS to transport the necessary equipment and mail to the new location in Colorado City.

Beginning September 19, Colorado City customers will be able to pick up their mail at the new Colorado City location Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to noon.

“It was always our desire to restore service as soon as possible,” said Pueblo Postmaster Susan Grasmick. “We recognize the inconvenience and apologize for the disruption.”

“I am so appreciative for everyone’s patience as we worked to restore our service,” said Grasmick. “We all look forward to things returning to normal.”

The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
