Andrea Gunnarson took the oath of office on Thursday, Feb. 26, becoming Littleton’s 12 postmaster since 1937.

Family, friends, community members, and colleagues came to the Highlands Ranch Post Office for the ceremony. Washington District Manager Trent McNeal administered the Oath of Office.

Gunnarson began her Postal Service career in August of 2002 leaving the medical care field as a psychiatric technician. Starting as a keyer at the Remote Encoding Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, Gunnarson soon climbed the ranks taking on high level management roles in Seattle and Colorado.

As Littleton Postmaster, Gunnarson oversees more than 400 employees who service more than 150,000 delivery points. She oversees all Post Offices in Littleton, Highlands Ranch, Columbine Hills, Centennial, and Ken Caryl.

Gunnarson has a Bachelor of Science from the University of Utah Pre-Med program where she majored in psychology and minored in Chemistry. She is the proud mother of two adult children with a grandchild on the way.

“Today is both a personal honor and deeply personal milestone,” said Gunnarson. “Being sworn in as Postmaster is not simply an appointment to a position – it’s an acceptance of responsibility to serve this community, this organization, and the endearing mission of the United States Postal Service.

“I’m honored to be the Postmaster of Littleton. I will work hard to give great service to our employees and customers.”
