Take a look inside the Stamford Processing and Distribution Center

Holidays BTS

CONNECTICUT — The holidays are coming, and the U.S. Postal Service has been preparing for months. We’ve added new parcel sorting machines, opened additional annex facilities, and ramped up our hiring efforts. Americans can rest assured: We Are Ready.

Right now, we are offering our media partners a look inside the major package sorting facilities that will be delivering the holidays to our valued customers.

Last year’s holiday season was like no other for both USPS and its customers. Package delivery grew nearly 48 percent, driven by the surge in online shopping and ecommerce due to the COVID pandemic. Last year, despite the challenges of the pandemic, the Postal Service delivered a record 1.1 billion packages.

Now is your chance to hear from us – and our employees – on how we prepare for the holiday rush.

What: A look inside the Stamford Processing and Distribution Center.

When: USPS is offering tours starting now through Dec. 2021.

Where: Stamford Processing and Distribution Center, 427 West Ave., Stamford, CT 06902.

Media Alert: For entry into the Stamford P&DC contact Amy Gibbs at (347) 668-6709, amy.n.gibbs@usps.gov.
