No Appointment Needed at July 15 Passport Fair, Hartford Post Office

HARTFORD, CT – Summer is in full swing; is your passport up-to-date and travel ready? Applying for a passport early will ease your vacation planning stress.

On July 15, the Hartford Post Office is offering a convenient and time saving opportunity to apply for or renew your passport without an appointment.

For passport applications or renewals, walk-ins are welcome for both first time applicants and renewals. Your photo can be taken for an additional $15 fee. Leather passport wallet are available for $16.99.

Adult passport fees:
Each passport for an adult must be accompanied by a check or money order for $130, made payable to the U.S. Department of State and a $35 acceptance fee made payable to USPS.

Children passport fees:
Fees for children under 16 are $100, payable to the U.S. Department of State and $35 payable to USPS.

Fee to expedite passport processing:
The cost to expedite processing at the Department of State is $60 paid per application, in addition to required fees.

Applicants need to:

  • Bring proper proof of American citizenship. This must be either a certified birth certificate issued by the city, county or state; a previous U.S. passport; a certificate of citizenship; or a naturalization certificate (please note: a hospital-issued birth certificate alone is not acceptable.)
  • Bring proof of identity. This must be either: a recently issued U.S. passport; a recently issued naturalization certificate; a recently issued certificate of citizenship; or a current valid driver’s license, government ID or military photo ID.

The passport application requires recent color passport photograph of you (2” x 2” in size).

Customers should download the passport application www.travel.state.gov  and complete beforehand. Do not sign the application.

All applicants must appear in person (including minors).

The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
