HARTFORD, CT — The Connecticut Postal Customer Council (PCC) teamed up with Southwest Georgia PCC and South Carolina PCC on Tuesday, Feb. 6 for a virtual webinar on the topic of political mail as part of a monthly meeting series geared towards networking for shipping professionals.

Hosting the webinar was USPS National Political Mail Lead Jim Richard. “Political Mail is a growing business — especially as we head into an election year,” said Richard. “It’s a great way for candidates to reach voters of every generation,” he added.

Political Mail is an easy way to promote candidates and get messages to voters.
Flyers, brochures, letters and postcards are cost-effective, memorable ways to explain a platform, referendum, question or campaign.

Political Mail may be sent from a political candidate, federal, state or local campaign committee, or political party. It differs from election mail — which is any item mailed to and from authorized election officials that enables citizens to vote.

Regular Connecticut PCC meetings are held every third Thursday of the month. Interested business owners and mailers can visit the Connecticut PCC website to learn more about upcoming events and resources or email: CTPCC@pcc-ct.org.

Monthly PCC meetings bring together industry professionals to learn about new products and services, network and learn about what’s new and trending in the mailing industry.

Postal Customer Councils, created in 1961, provide a unique opportunity for any business to meet with top level managers of the Postal Service to obtain information, share ideas, address issues, grow their business and network with other business colleagues.
