Wallingford, CT — The United States Postal Inspection Service will host a Community Shred Day event at the Wallingford Post Office to help customers safely dispose of sensitive personal documents and protect themselves from identity theft and fraud.

Properly shredding items such as bank statements, credit card offers, tax records, medical information and other documents containing personal information can help prevent criminals from gaining access to private data. The event encourages customers to take an active role in safeguarding their identity while learning more about the importance of mail and financial security. By securely destroying confidential paperwork, community members can reduce the risk of scams, fraud and identity theft before it starts.
