BELLMAWR – On Nov. 14 and Dec. 17, the U.S. Postal Service presented a proposal at a community meeting that included the relocation of the Harbeson Post Office, located at 26454 Lewes Georgetown HWY, to a yet-to-be-determined location.

After consideration of discussion and feedback, the Postal Service has announced it is moving forward on the proposal because it cannot renew its lease at the current location. The relocation will allow the Postal Service to maintain retail and delivery operations for customers in the Harbeson area for the long term.

As noted, postal retail services will continue at the Georgetown DE Post Office until the replacement facility is open and operating as a Post Office. There will be no change to Post Office Box numbers or ZIP Codes.

The Postal Service will update the community when more information is available.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses, and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
