On November 13, 2019, legislation to dedicate the Windermere Post Office to Robert German was introduced by Congresswoman Val Demings (D-FL). It was signed into law by President Donald Trump on December 17, 2020.

Public Law 116-219 designated the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 9300 Conroy Windermere Road in Windermere Florida, as the Officer Robert German Post Office Building.

Officer German was a 2007 graduate of the Law Enforcement Academy at Seminole State College in Sanford, FL. He chose to serve as a police officer in Windermere because of the community pride and opportunity to develop personal relationships with members of the force and residents.

He was shot and killed in the line of duty in March 2014.

Please note: To ensure the safety of all attendees, CDC guidelines, including social distancing and face mask mandates, as applicable, will be observed.
