USPS Seeks to Relocate Operations at Hallandale Golden Isle Postal Store

Hallandale Beach, FL — The U.S. Postal Service has announced its decision to proceed with its proposal to relocate operations at the Hallandale Golden Isle Postal Store at 1800 E. Hallandale Beach Blvd, Hallandale Beach, FL 33009-9998.

The lease for the existing location will be expiring, and therefore, a new location to house Post Office Box and retail operations is needed. The Postal Service proposes moving operations to a building of approximately 2,600 square feet within a two-mile radius of the current location. A suitable location has not yet been identified; customers will continue to be served at the current location for the time being.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Postal Service is not conducting a community meeting to explain the relocation process and to solicit the public’s feedback. Community members served by ZIP Codes 33009, 33019, and 33020 were sent a postcard citing the preferred area for a new facility and residential and business customers’ input on the availability of local buildings.  Comments are due to the following address by Close Of Business (COB) Saturday, April 16, 2022:

Hallandale Golden Isle Store
U.S. Postal Service
P.O. Box 27497
Greensboro, NC 27498-1103

The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to fund its operations.  To be a self-sustaining organization, the Postal Service makes decisions that ensure adequate and affordable postal services as efficiently and as economical as possible.
