USPS to Host Florida Keys Job Fair May 13-14

Employment Opportunities Soon Opening in Key West, Marathon, Summerland Key

Florida Keys —Job seekers in the lower Florida Keys will want to mark Friday, May 13, and Saturday, May 14, on their calendars to learn about upcoming employment opportunities in the U.S. Postal Service. Both dates, postal officials invite residents interested in rewarding and challenging positions to attend a job fair at the Flagler Post Office, 2764 North Roosevelt Blvd, Key West, FL.

Postal officials will be available to answer any employment questions and computers will be set up for onsite application Friday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 12 Noon. At the job fair, residents may apply for the following positions or apply on their personal computer at home Friday, May 13, through Tuesday, May 17:

City Carrier Assistant (CCA)

Salary: $18.92 per hour

Positions opening in Key West and Marathon

A CCA delivers mail and packages on a varied schedule that may include weekends and holidays. The position requires a valid Florida driver’s license, safe driving record, and experience with a passenger car or larger. A CCA is scheduled to work based on service needs. The position may or may not lead to career employment.

Postal Support Employee (PSE) Sales and Services/Distribution Associate (SSDA)

Salary: $18.69 per hour 

Positions opening in Key West and Summerland Key

A PSE SSDA serves customers at the retail counter and distributes mail and packages for postal personnel to deliver. The position is intended to be very flexible; an employee can be scheduled any hours and days, including weekends and holidays. This non-career position may lead to career employment.

Assistant Rural Carrier (ARC)

Salary: $19.06 per hour

Positions opening in Marathon and Summerland Key

Scheduled as needed, an ARC delivers packages on Sunday and observed holidays, and on  Saturday, may sort, deliver, and collect mail and packages along a designated rural route. This non-career position requires the use of a personal vehicle.

Rural Carrier Associate (RCA)

Salary: $19.06 per hour

Positions opening in Marathon and Summerland Key

An RCA will have a continuous, part-time job with a reliable employer. This on-call position could be ideal if you are retired, self-employed, an at-home parent, an educator, night student, or if you are employed on an evening shift schedule.

Becoming an RCA is the first step on the path to becoming a full-time, regular rural carrier with full benefits.
