GOTHA, FL – “To me, ‘Delivering for America’ means continuing to modernize and adapt to the changing needs of our customers," says newly appointed Gotha Postmaster Donelly Davila-Wedding. "Our customers are the priority, whether located in the biggest cities or smaller communities, such as Gotha."

As Postmaster, Davila-Wedding is responsible for delivery and retail operations, including 674 P.O. Boxes and more than 1,464 business and residential delivery points. She supervises six employees.

Davila-Wedding's career began as a Rural Carrier Associate in Kissimmee, FL. She was a Delivery Supervisor, Customer Services at the Kissimmee Carrier Annex and later served as its Acting Manager.

She graduated from the University of Illinois in Chicago with a bachelor's degree in Applied Psychology, a minor in Criminal Law, and an Associate of Arts from Elgin, IL, Community College. Before her postal career, she was a women's and children's advocate at Sarah's In Domestic Violence Shelter in Chicago, IL.

"I am excited about what's next. The Postal Service and its employees are dedicated," she says. "They ensure they give our customers the best, whether retail, delivery, processing, transportation, or maintenance. Everyone is delivering for America.”

"I want to thank my family and postal managers for their support and guidance over the years and for believing in me and giving me this opportunity," says Davila-Wedding.

Currently, she volunteers for East Coast Believers Church School Bus Drive and Christmas Angel Tree. She has been married to her wife, Ashley, for seven years. They have a six-year-old Boxer named Spartacus. She enjoys playing basketball in her free time, reading books at the beach, and taking her dog on long walks.

The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to fund its operations.
