Manages USPS Retail & Delivery Services for Wauchula
WAUCHULA, FL – Matthew Scott began learning about "Delivering for America" in 2013 when he started working as a rural carrier associate in Parrish, FL. After becoming a full-time rural carrier, a supervisor, and serving as an officer-in-charge at several post offices, Scott was named Wauchula Postmaster.
"I've watched technological advances and improvements in the working environment during my time with the Postal Service," he says. "Although mail volume has fallen, packages have increased."
These days Scott manages 16 employees, 5,179 deliveries, including city and rural routes, a retail unit, and a passport office.
In addition to customer priority, Scott says "Delivering for America" also means a stable and empowered workforce with knowledge and experience.
"We are here for customers in Wauchula and the customer across the nation who receive the letters and packages mailed at our post office," says Scott. "Thousands of dedicated postal employees make sure we deliver for America."
Scott is married with two children and says he enjoys being a father and husband.
The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to fund its operations.
