KATHLEEN, FL – Few postal employees know more about "Delivering for America" than Kristina Thomas. Currently serving as Kathleen, FL, Postmaster, Thomas began her carrier as a city carrier and transported mail between the post office and mail processing plant in Red Bank, NJ.

"In 2005, my family and I moved to Colorado Springs, where I continued to carry mail and became a safety trainer at the driving academy," she says. "This opportunity allowed me to assist others in beginning their postal career, teaching them about our vehicles and how to complete their tasks safely.”

"In 2014, I became a supervisor," she ticks off, remembering her other positions, including Acting Manager of the General Mail Facility in Colorado Springs, overseeing more than 45 routes and 70 employees."

Before moving to Lakeland, FL, she was a Customer Relations Coordinator and Acting Station Manager in Fort Carson, CO. In Florida, Thomas served as a supervisor until coming to Kathleen.

"We deliver to more than 300 residents in Kathleen as well as over 700 P.O. Box customers," she says. Thomas has an excellent understanding of many facets of postal operations. These days she supervises two clerks and a Highway Contract Route delivery person.

"Each position has brought many rewards. I love being able to teach my employees and educate my customers on the services we offer to help with their business needs.”

So how is Thomas “Delivering for America?” "I am educating each customer who walks in my door," says Thomas. "I want them to know how we can provide the best service."

Thomas is married with two children. She resides in Lakeland.

The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to fund its operations.
