Boloy Named Vero Beach Postmaster

Manages USPS Retail & Delivery Services for Vero Beach

Gerald Boloy Jr.

VERO BEACH, FL – Gerardo Boloy Jr., named Vero Beach Postmaster this year, brings an excellent resume and knowledge to the city to help secure "Delivering for America."

The former Indiantown, FL, postmaster also served as a mail clerk, supervisor, and manager throughout his career. "I was also Acting Manager at the Washington, DC Main Post Office. I saw the challenges in the nation's capital regarding mail delivery. I also implemented some ideas to reduce delivery times and improve service."

These days he has 216 employees, 51,613 deliveries, and four retail units to oversee in busy Vero Beach.

"During my years with the Postal Service, I have watched the growth of information technology and automation," he says. " My staff and I use the technology upgrades given to us to reduce cost and increase productivity to deliver for America."

Boloy says with a smile that he is married to Arlene and has a son, Andrew, a daughter, Alyssa, a granddaughter, Aria, and a grandson on the way. He enjoys fishing and biking in his spare time.

"Every postal employee must serve their customers whether in delivery, a clerk at the retail window, processing, transportation, or maintenance," he adds. "Every day, we are ‘Delivering for America.’”

The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to fund its operations.
